Shello Shells with a Straw 3/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon lemon juice 2 tablespoons butter1 egg 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 cup white flour1 cup flour1/2 teaspoon salt2 teaspoons baking powder1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 to 1/3 cup water1/3 to 1 cup milk1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon honeyFor the Shello:1.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Place the sugar, vanilla and brown sugar in a small bowl.
Add the salt, baking soda, lemon juice and butter and whisk until combined.2.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking salt, and baking soda until well combined.
Add milk, the egg, vanilla, and honey.
Stir well until combined, then fold in the flour mixture.3.
In another large mixing board, add the flour and egg mixture.
Cover and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.4.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the flour/egg mixture with the white flour and whisk to combine.5.
In the same bowl, add half the flour to the butter, followed by the vanilla and honey and whisking until combined and smooth.6.
Stir in the vanilla mixture and mix to combine again.7.
Pour the shello batter into the prepared baking dish and bake the shells for 25 minutes or until baked.8.
Cool on a wire rack.
For the Tasty Shells recipe, place the shellos in a sealed baking dish, covered with parchment paper, and let cool in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
The recipe can be made in advance and frozen or can be canned.
