The South Australian Police Service (SAPS) said the crash occurred around 7:30am (AEDT) on Friday.
“The vehicle that was travelling west was involved in a collision with another vehicle, a truck trailer camper, at a traffic light at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 15,” the SAPS said in a statement.
“(The truck trailer) camper struck another vehicle and exploded in a bushfire emergency.”
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Police say a number of residents have reported hearing explosions in the area and a small fire is still burning in the town of Wirraway.
Road closures were imposed across the state for several hours on Friday afternoon.
Drivers were warned to keep their eyes peeled for the “smoke, fire and explosion” that they are experiencing.
A spokesman for the Saps said there were no reports of injuries.
